March 2, 1926 - July 6, 2010
Patience grew up in Jamaica, where she received the elementary and higher
school education, and obtained a diploma in Secretarial and Accounting.
She was a teacher at an elementary school; at a business and commercial
college; was office manager for a firm of wholesale and retail merchants,
and she was secretary/assistant for a life assurance company.
On moving to Toronto, she pursued
courses in various facets of the legal field. She was a Taxation Law Clerk
with the Federal Department of Justice, and subsequently worked with a
private law firm.
In 1989, she began research into
Genealogy and her family history and she learned German. In 1991, she wrote
the first version of this present book. Her travels have included two extended
stays in Germany.
Sadly, Adele passed away July 6, 2010 at the age of 84 and is very much missed.
A copy of her obituary is available here
"This book is a labour of love,
dedication and an eye opening journey back in time which now has been documented
for decades and hopefully centuries to come!"
